Introduction
I am a geologist interested in paleoclimate and past landscape change. I utilize multiple proxies to address these topics, including stable isotope geochemistry of carbonates and biominerals, sedimentology and mapping.
I am currently a Postdoctoral Associate at The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Geology and Environmental Sciences. I am working with Dr. Mark Abbott on understanding climate proxies preserved in ancient lake sediments from the Central Andean Lake Junín and lakes in northwestern USA to evaluate past temperature and aridity.
My research as a Ph.D. student at Johns Hopkins University focused on Plio-Pleistocene fossil sites in South Africa. I have also been applying the study of triple oxygen isotopes (16O, 17O and 18O) to develop a novel method to evaluate environmental aridity, paleo pCO2 and diagenesis of fossil materials.
